Fantastic Fractions, Clouds and More...

This week in First Grade, we are working on fractions in math.  The students listened to a fraction song to begin learning about fractions...

We then created an anchor chart based on what we learned:
One project that we worked on was finding the fraction of shapes that we pulled out of the shape bucket:
We also had fun on the Smartboard playing different fraction games:



We also created "Duck Fraction Stories" where the students were given a momma duck, and twelve ducklings.  They could color the ducklings any color they wanted, and then complete the fraction sentences:





We are also learning about CLOUDS in science.  We first created a chart on what we knew about clouds:
We then learned about the four different types of clouds; CUMULONIMBUS, STRATUS, CIRRUS, CUMULUS
 We filled out our observations on each cloud type:
